Following a few of our recent blogs we thought we would give an overview of two FS topics and a list of trends for 2016, all of which we will cover individually and in depth in future blogs.
- Public private hybrid cloud discussion
- How time to insight is driving big data business investment
- Top 10 big data trends for financial services in 2016
The Chairman and CEO of JP Morgan Jamie Dimon said "There are hundreds of startups with a lot of brains and money working on various alternatives to traditional banking”.
Looking at the discussion surrounding public/private/hybrid cloud from a recent piece by Stephanie Walden of Mashable UK: The pros and cons of public, private and hybrid clouds where she outlines her views.
The second article written by Randy Bean on MIT Sloan management review covers the hot topic of how time to insight is driving big data business investment and is a subject matter that we see as one of the key requirements for our clients: How Time-to-Insight Is Driving Big Data Business Investment.
Finally we have a look at a very interesting article by Sean O'Dowd - Global Financial Services Director - MAPR, Top 10 Big Data Trends in 2016 for Financial Services which looks at the overall trends in the FS sector, highlighting many of the points we have been talking about for a long time, always good to see it coming from another source, and he includes:
- Meeting regulatory imperatives.
- Reducing risk
- Meeting internal operations and client facing activities.
- Data governance
- Big data utilisation
As mentioned we will discuss the points above in more detail in a number of our upcoming blogs.
